Can I Get Pregnant Naturally With Low AMH?

Can I Get Pregnant Naturally With Low AMH?

Yes, you can get pregnant naturally even if your AMH is low.

Yes, low AMH does not automatically mean you cannot conceive naturally. At Welling Homeopathy, our Homeopathy Assisted Reproduction Therapy (HART) is designed to support the body’s natural healing process and help couples work towards natural pregnancy. Consult our experts to understand your fertility case and explore your options.

This is one of the first questions I hear from women who come to me after seeing a low AMH report. Many are told that their ovarian reserve is low and immediately start thinking, “Does this mean I cannot become pregnant?”

No. A low AMH does not mean that you cannot get pregnant.

AMH, or Anti-Müllerian Hormone, is mainly used as a marker of ovarian reserve. In simple words, it gives us an idea about the remaining pool of eggs in the ovaries. But AMH by itself does not tell us whether you will or will not conceive naturally.

What does low AMH actually mean?

A low AMH generally suggests that the number of eggs remaining in the ovaries may be lower than expected.

But there is an important difference between the number of eggs and the ability to become pregnant.

You need only one good egg, released at the right time, to conceive.

That is why I do not look at an AMH report in isolation when a woman comes to me for fertility treatment. I want to understand the complete picture. Her age, menstrual cycle, ovulation, ultrasound findings, previous pregnancies, miscarriages, fallopian tubes, partner’s sperm health and previous fertility treatments all matter.

Can you ovulate with low AMH?

Yes.

A woman with low AMH can continue to ovulate regularly. She may still have periods every month and may still release an egg.

This is important because many women see a low AMH number and assume that their ovaries have stopped working. That is not what a low AMH report means.

Low AMH mainly tells us that the ovarian reserve may be reduced. It does not automatically mean that ovulation has stopped.

Does low AMH mean I need IVF?

Not necessarily.

IVF may be recommended in some situations, depending on the woman’s age, fertility history, ovarian reserve and other factors. But a low AMH number alone does not automatically mean that natural pregnancy is impossible.

I have seen many women become extremely anxious after being told that their AMH is low. The anxiety itself can make the fertility journey even more difficult.

The first step should be to understand the individual case rather than making a decision based on one blood test.

Can low AMH be treated naturally?

This is where I would advise women to be careful.

You will find many claims online about increasing AMH with supplements, diets, medicines and various treatments. But increasing the AMH number is not necessarily the same thing as improving your chances of having a baby.

The real goal is not simply to make a blood test look better.

The goal is pregnancy.

In my practice, I look at the woman as a whole and try to understand what may be interfering with her fertility. Based on the case, we use our Homeopathy Assisted Reproduction Therapy, or HART, approach to assist the body’s own healing process and work towards natural conception.

Can you get pregnant naturally with very low AMH?

It can still be possible.

But your chances cannot be predicted from AMH alone.

Age becomes particularly important. A woman with low AMH at 30 and a woman with low AMH at 40 are not in the same situation. The quality of the eggs, ovulation, menstrual history and other fertility factors also need to be considered.

That is why I would never tell a woman, “Your AMH is low, so you cannot get pregnant.”

I would rather look at the complete case and understand what we can do from here.

What should I do if my AMH is low?

First, don’t panic after seeing the number.

Get your reports properly evaluated. Find out whether you are ovulating, understand your ovarian reserve, check the other important fertility factors and look at your complete history.

And most importantly, don’t assume that a low AMH report means the end of your chances of becoming a mother.

I have been treating fertility cases for more than 25 years, and one thing I have learned is that every fertility case is different. A report is only one part of the story. The woman sitting in front of me is the complete story.
