How a fertility case is taken
A first consultation for infertility is long. The doctor goes through the menstrual history in detail, previous investigations for both partners, hormone and semen reports, any treatment already tried, and the wider picture of health — sleep, digestion, weight, stress, thyroid function and long-standing complaints that may look unrelated.
The prescription follows from that reading. Two women with the same diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome will often be prescribed differently, because the case, not the label, decides the remedy.
Both partners, not one
Where a male factor is present, the male case is taken with the same care. Semen parameters — count, motility and morphology — are reviewed alongside the general case, and are re-checked over the course of treatment.

Fertility rarely presents on its own. Most of the cases we see sit alongside one of the following:

At each review the doctor looks at what has genuinely shifted — cycle length and regularity, ovulation, pain, reports where they have been repeated — and adjusts from there. You should expect a realistic view of the likely course at the first consultation, not a fixed promise.
