For women, many diseases tend to share similar symptoms and, without the right diagnosis, the wrong treatment could translate into serious risk for their own health, thus making the cure worse than the sickness. One clear example of this problem is PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and Endometriosis.
So what is Endometriosis, and what is PCOS? Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrial cells, which are associated with sexual hormones and are released from inside the uterus during menstruation, start to grow at an abnormal rate outside of the uterus, placing themselves in other delicate areas of the body like the fallopian tubes or the lymphatic system and, in extreme cases, even the brain.
Endometriosis is commonly separated into four stages:
- Minimal: Small and shallow lesions and endometrial implants inside the ovaries, along with pelvic inflammation.
- Mild: The lesions and endometrial implants are more severe; constant pelvic pain.
- Moderate: Deep implants inside and outside the ovaries, usually around the pelvic lining.
- Severe: The implants propagate to other parts of the body, most commonly the fallopian tubes and bowels.
PCOS, on the other hand, is a condition in which the ovaries are not stabilized and, thus, produce more hormones than the body needs to function properly and this causes changes that can vary from drastic weight changes to heart diseases and diabetes.
Although both conditions develop first in the ovaries, the symptoms vary greatly between them. Endometriosis is hard to diagnose at its more early stages because pelvic pain is the first signal of its existence, but this is usually associated with traumas or normal muscle pain in younger women who exercise and can be easily overlooked by doctors. Menstrual periods more painful than usual, cramps, discomfort in bowel movements and infertility are other symptoms, but this manifest themselves when the disease is in its second or third stage.
PCOS has more explicit symptoms, but this is more severe even in early stages:
- Excessive body hair and acne due to an excess in the production of masculine hormones like androgens.
- Menstrual disorders like oligomenorrhea (less than nine menstrual periods in a year) or amenorrhea (no menstrual periods for more than two consecutive months)
- Metabolic syndromes associated with the insulin resistance in the body, causing central obesity in most patients.
- Infertility derived from said menstrual disorders.
Treatments
Both of these conditions can be completely cured with our specially formulated Homeopathy treatment. The treatment needs to be customised for you, and is determined by the severity of the stage in which the condition was diagnosed.
Endometriosis is treated with pain medication to control pain and then a customised chalked out treatment for complete recovery.
Conventionally PCOS is treated with birth control pills, patches, or vaginal rings. But these are temporary treatments which may hamper future fertility, that is the capacity to conceive naturally. The right Homeopathy treatment can help you fight PCOS completely and permanently. Met our specialist today for detailed assessment and treatment.

Frequently asked questions about endometriosis and PCOS
1. How can I tell endometriosis from PCOS?
PCOS typically causes irregular or absent periods, acne, excess hair and weight gain. Endometriosis typically causes painful periods, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse and sometimes pain with bowel movements or urination. They can also occur together, and ultrasound, MRI or laparoscopy help confirm.
2. Do both conditions affect fertility?
Both can. PCOS mainly affects ovulation. Endometriosis can distort the pelvis and affect egg quality and implantation. Many women with either condition conceive with the right treatment.
3. Can endometriosis be diagnosed on an ultrasound?
Ultrasound can show endometriomas (ovarian chocolate cysts), but superficial endometriosis may not be seen. MRI and sometimes laparoscopy are used.
4. Is surgery always needed for endometriosis?
No. Treatment depends on symptoms, age and fertility plans, and ranges from pain management and hormonal medicines to surgery. Your gynaecologist will advise.
5. Can homeopathy help with endometriosis or PCOS?
Homeopathy is offered as individualised, supportive care alongside your gynaecologist’s plan. See our pages on endometriosis and PCOS.
